It&#39;s a love story

Andrew showed up, determined to have a good time shopping.

"Viva la France!"

"Bonjour," Romeo returned. "I'm glad you could come along. We can compare notes on how things have changed."

From:

"I have high hopes that nothing is going to be the same," Andrew replied. Even though there was one dusty old book store he was kind of hoping was still there.

"And I'm going to steer clear of the unpasteurized cheese."

From:

"At least we've more experience with the language this time," Romeo said, trying to be optimistic.

"I hadn't thought about the cheese."

From:

"Oui!" Andrew agreed. He had gotten quite proficient with the French last time he was here. His archaic accent was sure to get a lot of odd looks today.

He looked around, smiled, and added, "Thanks for inviting me."

From:

Romeo was kind of used to odd looks, so he wouldn't mind it if he got any. "'Tis nothing. I could tell you had need of a break from the island, and it's as easy for three to go as two."

"Is there anything you were especially going to shop for?"

From:

"Nothing in particular," Andrew replied. And it was mostly true. "I might try to hit up a bookstore or two."

From:

"I might follow you if you find a good one," Romeo said happily. He hadn't read nearly enough lately.

From:

"Oh. Yeah. Sure," Andrew replied, nodding. They kept most of the books he was interested in locked away anyway. Besides, Romeo probably wouldn't care if he was buying some ancient tome on demonology anyway.

From:

"Viva-ing France!" Dōjima replied enthusiastically, butchering it slightly. "Ano, I'll have to have you boys help me, I do not speak any French at all."

From:

"Don't worry," Andrew replied with a grin, "my accent might be a little off, but I'm pretty sure I know enough to get by, my lady. It shall be a glorious day of shopping and exploration."

Dōjima blinked, and a large grin spread across her face. "Oooohhh...I like you. I'm keeping you," she announced, grabbing for his arm. "You say the nicest, bestest things."

Andrew blinked a few times himself. "And I don't know about you," he continued, "but I plan on over-eating and buying all kinds of stuff I don't need." After this past week, a little retail therapy would do him some good.

"Pastries," she said seriously, nodding in agreement. "Rich, yummy pastries, and chocolates, and an entire bottle of wine. Not to mention all the tacky presents for other people that I can carry."

From:

"Tacky presents are a must," he agreed. "I mean, what good is it seeing the country if you can't buy little miniature knickknacks of all the touristy places, right?"

From:

"I need a mini of whatever that French version of the Tokyo Tower is," Dōjima replied. "I want to make a wee little city, and then let my cat stomp around it. It will be like every Godzilla movie ever made, only better."

From:

"Ohhh, attack of the giant kitty!" Andrew rather liked this idea. "I could totally be your cinematographer. Those movies need a certain level of camp for success, and I scream camp."
