Wedding Chapel, Friday Night

As bad idea marriages went, it was saying something that marrying Angela was actually only the second worst nuptial idea Romeo'd had in his young life.

At least no one was likely to die this time?

Not that he was thinking about that, or about much of anything, really, beyond "champagne bubbles FUN" as he stumbled over to the counter, Angela beside him, and started trying to fill in the paperwork.

"Angela, darling, dearest bride, how do you spell Montenegro?"

Angela squeezed his hands a moment, bobbing on her toes just as the attendant moved through the service.

This whole spiel was taking a little too long for her. Impatience.

Blah, blah, blah, had his first wedding been this long? Romeo couldn't remember.

"... husband and wife."

Finally.

"You may kiss."

Romeo stepped toward Angela, bringing his hands to the side of her face.

Angela smiled, slipping her hands over his shoulders as she moved in.

"Think that's our cue," she murmured, leaning up to kiss him.

"Think it is," Romeo agreed, and tilted forward to return her kiss. He parted his lips only slightly as their mouths met.

Best wedding ever.

Uh, of course, she hadn't had one of her own before, and the ones she'd been to of other people's were a while ago when she was not so drunk.

But still!

She lingered in that kiss a moment, before pulling back to smile at him again. "Hi." So coherent.

"Hi," he agreed, looking dopily happy. "We should get another bottle and go on the deck to celebrate. We can watch the sun rise."

And, of course, doing things that way meant he wouldn't have to deal with the girlfriend in his room, though that wasn't in his conscious thoughts just then.

"Mmm, sounds beautiful!" she agreed, slipping her hands down from his shoulders. "We should."

He leaned in to try to kiss her one more time, because she looked so beautiful, before taking her by the hand to leave the chapel. "Then let's, Mrs. Montenegro-Montague. See, we even got lovely names from this."

Hard to say when you were drunk, but lovely.
