Wedding Chapel, Friday Night

As bad idea marriages went, it was saying something that marrying Angela was actually only the second worst nuptial idea Romeo'd had in his young life.

At least no one was likely to die this time?

Not that he was thinking about that, or about much of anything, really, beyond "champagne bubbles FUN" as he stumbled over to the counter, Angela beside him, and started trying to fill in the paperwork.

"Angela, darling, dearest bride, how do you spell Montenegro?"

"Don't worry. I've got it all on video!" said Hoshi, grinning. "This is so cool! I want to see more people get married now."

Angela shot him a quick grin in return, stepping up, albeit a little unsteadily at his side. Any nerves she might've had, were dulled almost entirely by a whoooole lot of Champagne.

"Think we are."

Reno squinted, taking a moment to consider this. Sure, Rikku had sobered up.

He, on the other hand, was still drunk and still dressed like a colorblind tourist. So her explanation was as good as any.

"Yeah, Romeo! You're the maaaaaaan, yo!"

"She's gorgeous," Annja agreed, helpfully taking photos of them both. "You're having a fairy tale wedding!"

Hrm. Annja may have had one too many pineapple drinks.

"I'm all about my fellow students making huge mistakes," Chuck said. "It's amuses me so."

"I wonder what name he's using?" Rikku asked, leaning in further. "We can have code names, now. Man, Dojima's gonna be sorry she missed this."

Understatement of the year, right there.

Romeo nodded in agreement and reached for Angela's hands, relaxing enough that his nerves were set aside.

"I want to marry her and live on the beach," he announced.

The attendant rolled his eyes and hoped the kid tipped well.

"Dearly beloved...."

Hannibal: NINJA STARS. Barring that, I got nothing just yet. Accidental 'oops we left you on the island?'

"Well, I have video from the other wedding, too, if you're interested," said Hoshi before taking another swig of her pineapple drink.

Oblivious, Romeo grinned and waved at them. There was a bounce, too. "I'm gettin' married!"

Angela squeezed his hands a moment, bobbing on her toes just as the attendant moved through the service.

This whole spiel was taking a little too long for her. Impatience.

"Everyone needs to try these pineapple rum drinks. They're delicious!" said Hoshi.

"Who was it?" he asked.

Dojima: You know, I happen to know a few ninjas...

Annja would have said something, but she was busy drinking more from hers.

"Those two!" said Hoshi, pointing at Rikku and Reno. "It looked like so much fun, too."

"WOOO! Yeah! You GET'IR, ROMEO!"

Who was the man? Romeo was the man!

And Reno was going to wobble and give thumbs-ups and the whole nine yards. Weren't drunk weddings the greatest thing ever?

Blah, blah, blah, had his first wedding been this long? Romeo couldn't remember.

"... husband and wife."

Finally.

"You may kiss."

Romeo stepped toward Angela, bringing his hands to the side of her face.

Éowyn had seen the marital chapel, but she had not expected to see anyone using it for its intended purpose. Therefore, when she spotted people inside - people her own age even - she could not help but take a seat and watch the event unfold.

"You'd think they'd, like, give you a bottle of champagne or something, to celebrate," Rikku sighed.

It was entirely possible that they did, under normal circumstances, and some wise soul had realized that the last thing Sven and Marina Fellina Drunkina needed was more alcohol. This had yet to occur to Rikku.

"It's kinda romantic, anyway," she decided, snuggling in against Reno. "We should get married again. New names, and wigs. See if we can fool 'em."

"Collect weddings," Reno chuckled, and it wasn't entirely clear if he was snuggling back against Rikku, or if he was leaning against her so he wouldn't fall over, but there was physical contact that looked more or less to be snuggly, and his head was going to hate him passionately in the morning.

"Like, alllll of 'em. Get married five more times on the ship, an' then photocopy all the weddin' paper thingers an' send 'em to... like... Tseng. And your ol' man. An' junk."

Yes, brilliant idea.

Angela smiled, slipping her hands over his shoulders as she moved in.

"Think that's our cue," she murmured, leaning up to kiss him.

"We'll have to see how many slutty outfits I have," she agreed. "And I'd have to be drunk again. I'm kinda sober-y now and it's not as much fun."

Far more lucid, but much less amused by fake-weddings.

Her own, that was. Romeo's seemed to be pretty fun.

"Sober suuuuuuuucks," Reno groused, and then grinned and attempted to lean in for a sloppy sort of kiss. "Stay drunk. S'less sober."

Words of wisdom, right there.
