Room 502, Sunday Morning

Romeo had plead a headache to stay home from Cal's party the night before, and Yurika had been too excited to do more than a little concerned clucking before heading off for ice cream. But in truth, he had been busy with some private preparations for the morning. It was, after all, a rather important day.

Once he woke up, he slid out of bed taking care not to dislodge Yurika from where she lay, still asleep. He kept things simple; an enormous fan of blood-red roses in the bed beside her, fresh orange juice and champagne for mimosas, chocolate croissants from J,GOB's, and coffee bubbling away. Finally, Romeo put a folder of some papers on the bed beside her.

And then there was nothing to do but watch her sleep and hope she woke up before impatience killed him.

Romeo laughed and let himself topple next to her. "If you keep looking at me like that, we're going to shock the poor egg."

He ... didn't actually sound like he minded.

"I thought that's why we gave the egg to a nanny, so it wouldn't pick up our bad habits," she replied, scooping up the egg and stretching to deposit it over the side of the bed. "There. Sweet Felix is safe. Now where were we?"

She was pretty sure it involved more kissing, since there was no longer a young and impressionable egg to worry about.

"I thought we gave the egg to Naminé because neither of us wanted to be bothered," Romeo pointed out. "We didn't have any shared bad habits, then, remember?"

He moved to kiss her before waiting for an answer.

"I have lots of bad habits," she laughed between kisses. "Like drinking! And shopping! And flirting with the father of my illegitimate egg child!"

"You were not flirting with me," Romeo laughed. "I wasn't even certain you'd let me take you to the dance."

He kissed the underside of her chin.

"We should write a think you to Miss Bell and Mr. Stinson."

The kiss got a purr, and Yurika squirmed a bit closer.

"Was too," she murmured, running her fingers down his arm. She'd been flirting with anyone in the class that was pretty, actually, but had been thrilled when he asked her to the dance. "And I think they'd appreciate it more if we sent booze. Did she leave a forwarding address at all?"

"Mmmm," Romeo said, which might have been yes or no but was mostly 'please keep kissing me.'

"So you should be glad I flirted back."

Yurika was just going to show him how very glad she was that he had flirted back by kissing him rather passionately.

He'd brought her flowers, breakfast, and a mock-egg-baby. Once you added kisses to the equation, it was possibly the best way to wake up ever.

And of course Romeo had to kiss her back; this was simply the best morning ever. He slipped under the covers so he was right next to her and started playing with her pajamas, trying to reach skin.

It would be fairly easy for him to reach skin; Yurika was only wearing one of his shirts (they made the best pajamas), and she was already dealing with his pants as she rolled them so that she was on top.

Someone was getting a thank-you quickie this morning.

Someone else was going to make sure they both enjoyed that quickie, then. There were hands and skin and mouths, and Romeo let himself get lost in that bliss.

Some time later, he rolled off to the side and just grinned at her lazily, legs till tangled. "I think we can call this an excellent morning. I love you."

"Haaaaaaaaaai." Yurika didn't feel the need to elaborate on what she was agreeing with. She was happily blissed-out, and just wanted to cuddle.

She made a gleeful little sound of contentment and nuzzled at his neck. "Maybe I skip the convention, today, and just stay in bed."

"Well, I'm certainly not about to shove you out the door," Romeo agreed, trying to cuddle in to convince her to stay. "The convention will just be full of dull people talking about dull things."

Yurika swatted at his shoulder lightly. "It wouldn't be dull," she argued. "Reno's strange bosses from the freelance police will be there, and there's some other interesting-sounding panels too."

Although staying under the blankets with a nice, warm boyfriend was sounding better by the moment.

"Aren't they the ones who are always shooting at people when they're mentioned in the radio?" Romeo queried. "And you'd have to go out in the cold to get there. Stay with me a little longer, at least?"

"I'll stay until at least lunch," she promised, pressing a kiss to his shoulder. "If you run out of food, however, we might be forced out of bed just for survival's sake."

A girl could not live on coffee alone, although she was looking at the champagne longingly.

"We have more croissants!" Romeo pointed out. "And champagne. And juice. It should sustain us until noon at the least."

"I know what you're up to!" Yurika accused, poking him in the ribs. "You're going to get me tipsy, and take advantage of me!"

Not that he really needed to 'take advantage'.

Romeo's smile went a little shy. "No, but I might be hoping to persuade you on a point..."

"You can usually persuade me with your 'point,'" she teased lewdly, but there was a momentary flicker of wariness in her eyes. "Spill, koibito."

Romeo yanked his boxers back on under the covers be. This was not a conversation to have naked, as much as his grin showed his appreciation of her innuendo.

"I've been doing some research," he began, almost timid as he retrieved the folder.

Papers. Yurika leaned back on the pillows, pulling the sheet up around her chest out of reflex.

"What type of research?" she asked, eyes flickering over the folder. "Don't tell me you're trying out a new lingerie supplier at the store?"

Wishful thinking.

"Things I could do into your Tokyo," he said, voice barely a breath as he sorted out things in the folder. "These are places that hire high school graduates to teach English. These are places I could volunteer, mostly through the church. And these are schools I think I could get into."

And he stopped there to watch her for any reaction.

There was silence for a long moment as Yurika reminded herself to count to ten before yelling.

"We discussed this." It came out flat, and probably slightly harsh, but it wasn't shouting.

"No, we discussed if I could follow you," he pointed out, with a stubborn tilt to his chin. "We said nothing about if I might find something I really wanted to do that just happened to be in Tokyo."
