Room 502, Sunday Morning

Romeo had plead a headache to stay home from Cal's party the night before, and Yurika had been too excited to do more than a little concerned clucking before heading off for ice cream. But in truth, he had been busy with some private preparations for the morning. It was, after all, a rather important day.

Once he woke up, he slid out of bed taking care not to dislodge Yurika from where she lay, still asleep. He kept things simple; an enormous fan of blood-red roses in the bed beside her, fresh orange juice and champagne for mimosas, chocolate croissants from J,GOB's, and coffee bubbling away. Finally, Romeo put a folder of some papers on the bed beside her.

And then there was nothing to do but watch her sleep and hope she woke up before impatience killed him.

"If you poured it into my sheets instead, I'd make you wash them," Romeo answered with a smirk. He fixed the coffee for her and handed her the mug along with a single red rose from the bouquet.

The rose got a raised eyebrow as Yurika sat up, reaching out to accept both the mug and rose. "What's this?" she teased, bending her head to smell the flower. "I didn't sleep away the two weeks until Valentine's Day, did I?"

"No, I shouldn't have let you rest quite that long," he answered. "This might help you remember." He reached onto his desk and pulled out a small box, which he also offered to her.

If she opened it, she'd find inside a hollowed-out egg with a face drawn on one side and HI, MY NAME IS FELIX on the other.

The coffee was set on the bedside table in favor of claiming the box. As much as Yurika might be a caffeine junkie, her insatiable curiosity demanded satisfaction.

She pried it open and stared for a moment before bursting out in laughter. "Ah, it's Felix's birthday!" she giggled. "I can't believe you remembered!"

"He's the best egg baby ever," Romeo agreed, leaning in to kiss her neck just below the ear. "I couldn't forget when he was born; he brought me to you. I had to mark his birthday somehow."

He really was that much of a sap.

"Romantic," she accused, but she was giggling too hard for her words to carry any bite. "You didn't really have a headache last night, did you?"

Yurika could be pretty quick on the uptake, once she was fully awake.

"You're brilliant," Romeo told her. "Have a croissant. Did Cal even miss me?"

"I don't think so, he was too busy trying to maintain his facade of jaded cynicism, but that's kinda hard when a dozen people show up for your party," Yurika answered. "Croissants? You went all out for this, didn't you?"

"You haven't seen me begin to go all out," Romeo answered confidently. "Though this means I have to top myself for our anniversary."

"But I'm glad Cal had a good party. I like him."

"All you have to do for our anniversary is kiss me," Yurika teased, shifting to reach for one of the croissants. "That will be enough to make me happy, I promise."

"Romantic," Romeo accused, but he was already leaning in to kiss her anyhow.

"No, you're the romantic," she protested before the kiss cut her off.

Then her lips had much more important things to do, than protest her innocence.

"Miss 'all I need for our anniversary is a kiss'?" Romeo teased, once they broke for breath. "I'm rubbing off on you, then."

Yurika leaned back on the pillows to leer at him. "You can rub off on me any time," she purred. "But if you insist, I'll let you take me out to dinner first."

Romeo laughed and let himself topple next to her. "If you keep looking at me like that, we're going to shock the poor egg."

He ... didn't actually sound like he minded.

"I thought that's why we gave the egg to a nanny, so it wouldn't pick up our bad habits," she replied, scooping up the egg and stretching to deposit it over the side of the bed. "There. Sweet Felix is safe. Now where were we?"

She was pretty sure it involved more kissing, since there was no longer a young and impressionable egg to worry about.

"I thought we gave the egg to Naminé because neither of us wanted to be bothered," Romeo pointed out. "We didn't have any shared bad habits, then, remember?"

He moved to kiss her before waiting for an answer.

"I have lots of bad habits," she laughed between kisses. "Like drinking! And shopping! And flirting with the father of my illegitimate egg child!"

"You were not flirting with me," Romeo laughed. "I wasn't even certain you'd let me take you to the dance."

He kissed the underside of her chin.

"We should write a think you to Miss Bell and Mr. Stinson."

The kiss got a purr, and Yurika squirmed a bit closer.

"Was too," she murmured, running her fingers down his arm. She'd been flirting with anyone in the class that was pretty, actually, but had been thrilled when he asked her to the dance. "And I think they'd appreciate it more if we sent booze. Did she leave a forwarding address at all?"

"Mmmm," Romeo said, which might have been yes or no but was mostly 'please keep kissing me.'

"So you should be glad I flirted back."

Yurika was just going to show him how very glad she was that he had flirted back by kissing him rather passionately.

He'd brought her flowers, breakfast, and a mock-egg-baby. Once you added kisses to the equation, it was possibly the best way to wake up ever.

And of course Romeo had to kiss her back; this was simply the best morning ever. He slipped under the covers so he was right next to her and started playing with her pajamas, trying to reach skin.

It would be fairly easy for him to reach skin; Yurika was only wearing one of his shirts (they made the best pajamas), and she was already dealing with his pants as she rolled them so that she was on top.

Someone was getting a thank-you quickie this morning.

Someone else was going to make sure they both enjoyed that quickie, then. There were hands and skin and mouths, and Romeo let himself get lost in that bliss.

Some time later, he rolled off to the side and just grinned at her lazily, legs till tangled. "I think we can call this an excellent morning. I love you."
