Romeo lay on his bunk, staring at the ceiling as he contemplated what had happened the day before.

It was sudden, and probably Yurika and Rikku were right that it was a bad idea. But he could not deny he had meant what he had asked, even as some tiny part of him was grateful to be turned down. He just hoped it would not come at the cost of Yurika's life, or what freedom she had.

He was not, however, grateful the whole mess had made radio, and hoped Yurika had forgotten to listen.

"I didn't see anything!" Rikku said, flailing. Badly. "I should've knocked, I'm sorry, I was just coming to say hi and I didn't knock and I'm so sorry! I have your cat! I'm so sorry! I didn't see anything, honest!"

She certainly couldn't see anything now, with her eyes glued shut like that.

"It's fine!" Yurika replied quickly, trying to pull her clothes back on. "Hi! Yeah! I'm sure you didn't see anything, because there wasn't anything to see, and thank you for bringing Alea back, and I..."

Yurika needed to shut up. With every word, she felt like she was getting smaller and smaller. Which might be good, since then she could just crawl under the bed and die.

"I'll go!" she said quickly. "I -- so you can -- get back to -- what you were doing! Weren't! Doing! 'Cause I didn't see anything and I'll knock, next time, I swear! I'm -- I'll go!"

She was headed for the door, not even realizing she still had Alea in her arms.

Romeo had managed to wiggle free, wondering in passing why his girlfriend felt lighter, and he was fastening his pants with one hand as he rose from the bed. "Rikku, wait," he stammered "I mean - the cat. You've got her still."

The damned cat. He should let her get out and rot.

"Rikku, wait!" she called, shrugging into her shirt. "Romeo said! The cat! And!" This was so damn embarrassing. Half-falling-half-bouncing off the bed, Yurika yelped as she tripped over her own feet and -

- it wasn't exactly Dōjima that hit the floor.

Romeo heard her fall and turned to see if she needed help up.

Except ... there was no girl.

There was a rabbit.

"Koibito?" he asked in utter bewilderment, holding out a hand to the creature.

Hey, when did he get so tall?

Yurika nosed at his hand for a moment before looking up at him forlornly. Hi? Hi. Hey, why aren't you petting me?

Um.

"Rikku!" he called again at her departing back. "Yurika is ..." He would save it for later; now he had a bunny.

Who, apparently wanted him to stroke her, so he ran a hand down her furry rabbit back. She felt, strangely enough, precisely like a rabbit.

"Hello, love," he whispered. "Next time we should listen to our instincts about the cabins."

"It's okay, honest, I didn't see anything," Rikku said, opening the door and then -- shutting it again, without leaving. Cat! Right. She walked to Romeo's alcove and peered in, eyes squeezed shut. "I have your cat?"

She braved cracking one, and ... okay, that wasn't what she expected to see. So she opened both to take in the scene.

"You ... got a bunny?"

Pettings! Yurika wriggled her nose happily at the new person. Hi! She looked nice...Yurika wouldn't mind getting pettings from her, too!

Romeo gently scooped Yurika the rabbit into his arms, where she twitched happily "I have a Dojima," he told Rikku, still rather scarlet. "Would you .... like to meet her?"

And, possibly, if she held the rabbit, he could get a shirt on. That would be nice, too.

Rikku set Alea down on the bed, reaching for ... Dojima. The bunny. Right!

"Hi, there," she said, scritching her adorable little bunny ears. "So, uh, from now on? I'll knock."

She promised.
