Romeo had skipped the trip to Normandy; he figured having gone there the weekend before was enough travel, really.
Besides, there were certain advantages to days when many fellow students were off the island -- advantages like being able to invite your beloved into your alcove without feeling like you were all but onstage.
Which was why he looked distinctly satisfied as he sat on his bed, fingering an odd little necklace he'd found under the cabin couch and waiting for the Dojima.

Then, thinking to distract her, he remembered the bauble in his pocket and pulled it out to show her. "And look, the cabin gave me this -- it was under the couch. I rather like it." It was a leather cord with a gold-colored figurine threaded on it; the figurine seemed to be some kind of small rodent, with a long nose.

And then he didn't say anything, because he was a small, brownish, rodent, blinking up at Yurika from a pile of Romeo's clothes.

And stared.
It took a few minutes to find her voice before she could hesitantly ask the question that she was desperately afraid she knew the answer to.
"Romeo?"

Or some animal ate him. Oh god.
"No! Romeo!" she said, trying to scoop him up. "See? This is why we don't wear tacky things! Tink-senesi is going to be so mad at you!"
Yes, because that was clearly the important thing here.
