So Romeo had a cold.

Which would not have been so bad, except Romeo felt as if he'd had a cold since, roughly, coming back from Verona after the New Year. It would ebb and flow, symptoms going like the tides before coming back -- again like the tides.

He'd taken to spending a lot of time in the bathtub. The hot water and steam seemed to help the cough more than anything else; it was also the warmest place in the apartment.

And, Romeo being Romeo, he generally had a pad of paper at his side during these lingering baths. Today, he was scrawling out a sonnet to cough syrup as he lolled in the tub.

"Hello? I am looking for a boy?" Yurika called out impishly as she unlocked the door and came into the apartment. "One that sends pitiful texts, and might like some of the honey and lemon tea that Master sent me home with..."

"Are you in the bath again?" she asked, a slight hopeful edge to her voice as she quickly shed her shoes without managing to trip over the cat. Alea, as always, was 'helping,' as cats did when their people came home and might be inclined to give a treat.

"Hai. Master sent tea, and ginger dumpling soup, since I said you still had that cough. I think he thinks I'm feeding you nothing but chips and pizza!"

"Haaaaaaaaaaaai!" She tossed her coat on the futon and made her way towards the bathroom, take-away bag cradled to her chest. "Ah, aijin, at least you sound a bit better? Ne? Should we drag the futon mattress in here tonight?"

He was so lucky his girlfriend wasn't a telepath.

"Mmmmm....poor weary bones," she replied, lounging in the door to admire her boyfriend in the bath. Even if he did have the plague, a girl could look! "I could try and drag it in, or we can put hot water bottles under the blankets to try and keep you warmer?"

She stopped leering long enough to open the bag, and pull out a soup container and a spoon. "Here we go, dinner a la bath!"

"I already ate my vegetables," she replied glibly. "Which means a girl can look at sweets, if she wants."

"Naughty nursemaid, maybe, when we both aren't so tired," she agreed, bending over to place a kiss on his hair. "Or maybe I'll get a massage after work on Friday, and hope that I can go a whole weekend without my phone ringing!"

"Mmmm....I turned it off already," she promised, nuzzling his ear. "They'll do without me for tonight, at least, because I told them I thought I was coming down with something, and was hoping sleep and ginger broth would nip it in the bud." And, of course, it wasn't like her coworkers were going to argue, since if she got Romeo's cold, then the rest of them were just targets waiting to become ill. And Hunters made bad patients.

"Which conveniently might happen this weekend, too. Just sayin'."

"If you don't get better, I will get sick, and then neither of us will enjoy the weekend," Yurika pointed out, shifting to sit on the edge of the bath. "...been writing in the tub again, aijin?"
